Accessibility statement
We want this site to be usable also for those who read it with a screen reader, a keyboard, or at a magnified zoom level.
What we aim for
The website has been built to level AA of the WCAG 2.1 guidelines, taking into account the requirements of Hungarian Act XVII of 2022 on accessible access for persons with disabilities.
What we have done specifically
- Contrast. Every text and background colour pair has been measured, and we use values above the AA threshold. The accent orange is used only at large sizes or on dark grounds, because it would not be sufficient in small text.
- Keyboard. The site can be navigated with a mouse or a keyboard. Focus is always visible, and each page starts with a “Skip to content” link.
- Screen reader. Images have text descriptions, form fields have labels, and menus and regions have ARIA markup.
- Zoom. The site remains usable at 200% zoom and does not overflow horizontally even on a 320 pixel wide display.
- Motion. If reduced motion is enabled in your system, we do not run animations.
- Language. Every page declares its own language so that a screen reader pronounces the text correctly.
- Word breaking. Long Hungarian compound words are hyphenated in headings so that they do not overflow on small screens.
Where we are not finished
We write this down honestly, because a statement is only useful if it is not merely self-congratulatory.
- The site contains an embedded map. The interactive part of a map is not handled well by every assistive technology, so we also print the address as text beside it and describe how to find us in words.
- The cake enquiry form is long. That is for substantive reasons, but we know that working through it with a screen reader takes time. If this is a problem, please call – we can take the same information over the phone.
- On the physical accessibility of the shop: the entrance is level with the pavement, so it can be entered with a wheelchair or a pram. Our toilet, however, is not of an accessible design.
If you have hit a barrier
Please tell us using the contact details on the Contact page. Write which page, what exactly, and with what device the problem occurred – that lets us fix it. If something cannot be solved quickly, we will provide every piece of information on the site by phone or in person.
Status of this statement
This statement is based on the website’s own assessment, carried out during development with automated checks and manual testing. If the site changes substantively, we update the statement too.
