Monster truck cake
A turquoise and white painted cream coating, marzipan cars around the base and chocolate decorations on top. Colourful without being loud.
When you have a theme but do not want a cartoon character, this build works well. The cream coating is painted with two or three colours by hand – which is why every one of these cakes is slightly different. The cars are shaped from sugar paste and set at the base of the cake, as if they were driving around it.
Chocolate shards, coloured sugar pearls and piped cream roses go on top. That part is freely adjustable: if the child’s favourite colour is red, red will dominate.
Why we recommend it
- There is no print, so it is ready in one week.
- It travels well: there are no tall, breakable decorations on top.
- It works for a mixed party – adults happily eat it too, because the decoration does not overwhelm the taste.
